A padded nylon jacket with a front zip, for small dogs, puppies and cats. Light to wear, warm for its weight, and it sheds a light shower.

What it does

  • Insulated padding. Warm without the bulk of a lined coat, so a small dog is not swamped by it.
  • Nylon shell. Smooth finish that resists wear and sheds light rain and damp grass.
  • Front zip. Metal hardware, and easier than pulling a garment over the head of a pet who dislikes that.
  • Tail drape at the back. Covers the rump rather than stopping short at the hips.

Fitting

  • Measure chest girth and back length before ordering and check both against the size chart. This listing is size Small in black.
  • Watch the zip against fur and skin the first few times — zips on pet clothing catch coat if they are pulled quickly.
  • Never leave a pet in a jacket unattended, in a crate, or outside alone.
  • Off in warm weather and indoors. Padded clothing on a warm day is a heat risk.
  • Light water resistance is not waterproofing. It will wet through in steady rain.
