A velvet cat collar with a rhinestone charm and a breakaway buckle. Light and soft on the neck, and built to release if it snags.

What it does

  • Breakaway buckle. The clasp opens under steady pressure, so a cat caught on a branch, a fence or a drawer handle pulls free.
  • Velvet band. Soft against the skin and light enough that most cats stop noticing it within a day.
  • Adjustable 9 to 12 inches. Kitten through to senior. The band is 3/8 inch wide.
  • Rhinestone charm. Sits at the throat and catches the light.

Fitting and honest limits

  • Two fingers flat between collar and neck. Tighter risks injury, looser lets a front leg through.
  • A breakaway collar is meant to come off. That is the safety feature working, and it means the collar is a backup to a current microchip registration, not a replacement for one.
  • Never clip a lead to a breakaway collar. Use a harness.
  • The charm is decorative. Check it regularly and take the collar off if the stones loosen.
  • Re-check the fit monthly while a kitten is growing.
