Cat Scratching Post with Sisal Rope & Hanging Toys

A compact scratching post with a sisal pillar, a plush perch on top and two toys hanging off it. Sized for a flat or a bedroom, where a full cat tree will not fit.

What it does

• Sisal pillar. Natural rope wrapped tightly around the post — the texture cats actually want to drag their claws through, which carpet and plush do not provide.
• Perch on top. Padded platform for sitting above floor level and watching the room.
• Two hanging toys. A feather teaser and a pom-pom, for batting at while they are up there.
• Wide fleece base. Circular and broad, so the post does not rock when a cat throws their weight against it.
• Small footprint. Fits in a corner rather than dominating a room.

Getting a cat to actually use it

• Put it where the scratching is happening. Next to the couch arm they are ruining, not in the spare room. Move it gradually once they are using it.
• Cats stretch to scratch. If the post is shorter than your cat's full reach they will go back to the couch — check the height against a stretched-out cat.
• Catnip on the sisal, and praise the first time they use it, does more than anything else.
• Suits kittens and small to medium cats. A large cat needs a taller, heavier post.
• Trim the hanging toys off if your cat chews and swallows string.
