A small scissor-style nail clipper with an LED light, sized for kittens, puppies, small dogs, cats and rabbits.

What it does

  • LED light in the head. Lights a pale nail from behind so the quick is easier to see and avoid.
  • Sized small. Contoured for small claws — a large clipper on a kitten's nail is clumsy and hard to place accurately.
  • Stainless steel blades. Rust resistant and sharp enough to cut rather than crush.
  • Non-slip handles. ABS grips, because the hand holding the clipper needs to be steadier than the paw.
  • Three colours. Light coffee, light blue and soft pink.

Good to know

  • The light only helps on pale nails. On black nails, take tiny slices and stop when a pale oval appears in the cut surface.
  • Have styptic powder ready before the first trim. If you catch the quick it bleeds freely, and powder stops it quickly.
  • Rabbits' nails are thin and their quicks are long — trim small amounts, and ask your vet to show you once if you have not done it before.
  • One paw a session is a perfectly good pace with a nervous animal.
