A curved bolster bed attached to a long flat mat. The dog sleeps in the curve; the mat runs out underneath and over the couch cushion, taking the hair, the mud and the wet.

What it does

  • Protects the furniture it sits on. The extended mat is the point — it covers the couch or bed around the dog, not just under them.
  • Curved bolster. A raised edge to curl against, which is how most dogs sleep when they have the choice.
  • Removable plush cover. Comes off to wash, which a fixed cover does not.
  • Warm off a cold floor. Works on floorboards and tiles as well as on furniture.
  • Five sizes. 75 × 75, 75 × 120, 90 × 90, 90 × 120 and 90 × 135 cm.
  • Matching pillow included on most colour options.

Good to know

  • Measure the couch, not just the dog. The mat needs to cover the part of the furniture your dog actually lands on.
  • Wash the cover regularly — a furniture protector works by taking the dirt, which means it gets dirty.
  • Not waterproof. It absorbs an accident rather than blocking it, so put a waterproof liner underneath if that is a concern.
