What it is

  • A plug-in diffuser. It goes into a power point in the room your cat spends most time in and runs continuously.
  • Up to 90 days per unit. Nothing to top up or switch on in the meantime.
  • Nothing your cat eats or wears. It disperses into the room rather than being applied to the animal.
  • Used around other pets and children. It is not a medication and there is nothing for anyone to ingest in normal use.

What we can and cannot tell you

  • The published evidence on cat pheromone diffusers is mixed. Some owners report a settled cat; controlled studies have produced inconsistent results. We are not going to claim this will calm your cat, because we cannot show you that it will.
  • It is not a treatment. Spraying, hiding, fighting, over-grooming or toileting outside the box can be signs of pain or illness, not just stress. Those need a vet, and a diffuser is not a substitute for that visit.
  • Environment usually matters more. Enough litter trays for the number of cats, high places to retreat to, separate feeding stations, and predictable routine will change more behaviour than any plug-in.
  • If you try it, give it several weeks in the room your cat actually uses, and keep the door open — a diffuser behind a closed door does nothing.
