Cozy Cat Cave Bed House

An enclosed house-shaped bed for cats who sleep better with a roof over them. Cats are den animals — a covered bed in a quiet corner will usually be chosen over an open one in the middle of the room.

What it does

• Enclosed on all sides but the door. A cat inside can see out without being seen, which is the arrangement most cats want when they sleep.
• Holds warmth. Soft velboa lining traps body heat, so the inside is warmer than the room — noticeable for older cats and thin-coated breeds in winter.
• Removable cushion. The PP cotton pad lifts out to wash, or comes out to be used as a flat mat on its own.
• Non-slip base. Stays put on floorboards when a cat launches out of it.
• Three sizes. M, L and XL — sized for cats through to small dogs.

Good to know

• Cats choose their own beds. Put it where your cat already sleeps rather than where you would like them to — a covered bed in the wrong spot gets ignored.
• Some cats never take to an enclosed bed. If yours sleeps sprawled in the open, a flat mat is the better buy.
• Enclosed beds get warm. In a hot room or a Queensland summer, give your cat a cooler open option as well.
