A round self-cleaning shedding brush. Press the button on the back and the pad of collected hair lifts clear of the bristles, so you can pull it off in one piece instead of picking hair out of the pins.

What it does

• One-click hair release. The button pushes the bristle bed forward and the mat of hair comes away whole. This is the feature that makes people keep using a brush.
• 232 bristles with rounded tips. Fine stainless pins capped with smooth beads, so they get through the coat without scratching skin.
• Reaches the undercoat. Fine pins pass through the top coat and lift the loose hair underneath, which is where shedding comes from.
• Small round body. Sits in the palm rather than being held by a handle — easier to control on a wriggling cat.
• Five colours.

Good to know

• Light strokes, and move around. Pressing hard on one patch causes brush burn. Fine pins on a thin-skinned or elderly animal need particular care.
• Work with the lie of the coat, not against it.
• Do not force it through a mat — that hurts, and it teaches a pet to hide when the brush comes out.
• A few minutes several times a week beats a long session once a month, for the coat and for their patience.
