Why five
Most returns in this category are not quality problems. They are fit problems - the seat is too wide for the bench, or the pet is two kilos over the limit and the base collapses. Five numbers prevent almost all of it.
1. Pet weight limit
The single most important figure, and the one most often missing. If your pet is within half a kilo of the limit, treat the limit as reached.
2. External width
Measure your rear bench between the seat belt buckles, not door to door. That is the space you actually have.
3. Internal length
Your pet should be able to turn around and lie down. Measure them nose to tail base while they are standing.
4. Attachment type
Headrest straps need a headrest. Seat-belt loops need an accessible buckle. Both are obvious once stated and invisible when they are not.
5. The delivery window
Ours is 10-18 business days and it is on every page. A listing that says "fast shipping" without a number is telling you something.
