• Meals on a schedule. Set meal times and portion sizes in the app, useful for a cat on a weight plan or a small dog who does better on small, regular meals.
• Change it from anywhere. Adjust the schedule or dispense an extra meal from your phone while you are out.
• 2 litre hopper. Several days of dry food for most cats and small dogs, depending on the portions you set.
• Battery backup. Plug it in at the wall, and add backup batteries (not included) in case the power drops.
• Locking lid. The lid locks, so a curious cat cannot easily lift it and help themselves.
• Removable bowl. The bowl lifts off for washing.

• Dry kibble only. Wet food will jam the mechanism and spoil in the hopper. Very small, very large or oddly shaped kibble can also bridge or jam.
• Test it at home first. Run it for several days with your own food while you are there. Weigh a few portions, because how much each portion holds depends on the kibble.
• Test a power cut too. Pull the plug with batteries fitted and check the next meal still comes out on time before you trust it while away.
• Never leave a pet with only an automatic feeder for company. Mechanisms jam, power goes out and Wi-Fi drops. Someone should physically check on your animals every day you are away. The feeder is a convenience, not a pet sitter.
• 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. It will not join a 5 GHz network, so check your router offers the 2.4 GHz band before you set it up.
• Scheduling from your phone needs the manufacturer's app and an account.
• One feeder, one pet. It cannot tell pets apart, so it cannot stop one pet eating another's meal.

Wash the bowl and any other parts that lift out regularly, and dry them fully before refitting. Never wash or submerge the base, which holds the electronics. Empty and wipe out the hopper between bags of food, as old kibble dust goes rancid and taints the fresh food on top.
